Dan Jørgensen, European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, visited Estonia on Saturday 8 February to discuss the interconnection of the Baltic electricity grid with the continental European band and cooperation to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure.
During his visit, the Commissioner met with a number of Estonian officials, including Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Svet, Deputy State Secretary for the Environment and Circular Economy Ivo Jaanisoo of the Ministry of Climate Change and Mayor of Tallinn Jevgeni Ossinovski. Together, they visited the modularly renovated dormitory at Akadeemia tee 5 and got acquainted with the SOFTacademy pilot area at the beginning of Akadeemia tee. They discussed the challenges of renovation in Estonia in general and the activities of the SOFTacademy project.
Dan Jørgensen is the first European Commissioner for Housing, responsible for all aspects of housing, from energy efficiency to investment and construction.
